About Unix Timestamps
A Unix timestamp represents the number of seconds (or milliseconds) that have elapsed since January 1, 1970, 00:00:00 UTC (the Unix Epoch). It's widely used in computing for storing and comparing dates.
- Seconds format: 10 digits (used by most backends)
- Milliseconds format: 13 digits (used by JavaScript)
- Timezone-independent when stored as UTC
- Y2K38 problem: 32-bit systems overflow on Jan 19, 2038
